The Starting base

Throughout history, wrestling has always been one of the widely popular sports among nations. Wrestling contests were always a source of attraction to spectators who used to follow it enthusiastically and cheer the victorious players at its end. Every tribe was keen to prepare its wrestlers for the competitions, in such a way as to enable them to win the matches and raise its name aloft among rival tribes.

Over the years, wrestling developed from a martial art into an organized sport, governed by rules and regulations. In its new form, wrestling became even more popular.

Given the fact that, in many international competitions, individual wrestlers are able to raise the flags of their nations high, whilst entire teams in other sports failed to meet the humblest expectations of their national supporters , we found it incumbent upon us to pay special attention to wrestling. We started by drawing short , long-term plans and programmes to prepare our wrestlers in such a way as to enable them to achieve good results in regional and international arenas. The most urgent of such plans was laying the foundations for building a solid base, out of which we can set off on the road to success. Amateurs interested in practicing wrestling, will get all the support and care they will need to develop their skills and achieve their potentials.

The journey made by us in this field is short, when compared with that of other nations; however, the efforts made, and the achievements accomplished so far, have been very encouraging indeed. We will continue to work hard to achieve further successes. I take this opportunity to express my satisfaction over the progress made so far, and to congratulate our young wrestlers who are training very hard to meet our expectations. Hoping that every one will do his utmost to enable our promising wrestlers to be successful in their endeavours.

May God Almighty bless you all.
