The Reality

Our interest in wrestling arises from the fact that it is one of the most popular games in the world. Wrestlers who achieve good results, or win medals in the international competitions, are seen as a source of proud for their national audiences, who give them hero’s welcome when they return home .

In the light of the above, we found it necessary to create an official body to supervise wrestling and offer support to UAE youth, in such a way as to enable them to utilize their energies, develop their skills, and achieve their potentials.

The situation  where we had amateur wrestlers without the existence of an accompanying official body to organize their domestic their Arab, regional, and international participations, and arrange for their training camps, and friendly matches with well- known teams, was simply illogical.

This is why UAE-WJ-Federation came into being. Since its foundation, the Federation has taken it upon itself, to provide every possible support to the talented national players. The Federation has also taken the necessary steps to join regional, as well as international federations so as to be able to take part regularly in wrestling championships held worldwide.

Though a short time has passed since it was founded, the Federation managed to make its presence felt, through joining Arab and international wrestling federations.

These are only the first steps on our long path of progress. We will continue to do our best to preserve and boost the achievements we have made so far, with the help and support we will, hopefully, receive from the wrestling community in our country.
