UAE is located in the eastern part of the Arab Peninsula. Its coasts are lying along the Arabian Gulf and Arabian Sea. It is a federal state consisting of   seven emirates: Abu Dhabi (the capital), Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al qaiwain, Ajman and Fujairah. Area : 83,600 sq km. Islands :200. Official language: Arabic.

In pre- oil era UAE inhabitants relied mainly on pearl diving, fishing and farming. Civilization has flourished in this land since the earliest times. more specifically , since the stone age ( 6000- 4500 ) BC.

Modern UAE

The rapid modernization and development process, which took place in UAE during the recent years, led to a substantial growth of the infrastructure and vital service amenities. Currently UAE has 15 seaports, 6 airports scattered across its territory. UAE also boasts a modern network of roads extending about 3171km , and a sophisticated, up-to-date telecommunications facilities.
